Does 'Dream Children' reveal any unfulfil desire of Lamb's heart?
The essay 'Dream Children' reveals Lamb's intense desire for family life but adverse circumstances made it impossible for him to realise his cherished desire. The very idea of children, fanciful though they are creeping upto him and nagging at his elbow with a desire to listen to an account of his boyhood days provides him an outlet for his unfulfilled desire. The idea is imaginative but intensely pathetic.
Explain the title of the essay 'Dream Children': A Reverie by Charles Lamb.
Dream Children actually do not exist in reality. The children belonging to the dream world are the creatures of writer's fancy and imagination. A reverie means day drawing or rarely wanted wishful thinking. Lamb, in his essay, seem to be engaging himself in day dreaming through a fantastic vision in which his unrealised hopes come in reality. The title therefore, is appropriate.
