The squirrel being a very small creature is unable to carry the vast stretch of forests on his tiny back.

What lesson does the poem convey to us?

The lesson of assessment of work whatever be it great or small is conveyed throughout the poem in the form of narrative conversation between the Mountain and the Squirrel who actually small but deserves the capability to perform some unlike jobs that can never be done by the former.

A 'Fable' is basically a small story where the characters are but animals, often 'Fable' has moral.
         
       The theme of the poem envelops not to judge others but try to evaluate as per inbuilt potent for everyone deserves more or less.

Why does the speaker think his existence to be gracious?

In respect of brevily of size opposite a large mountain the existence of the speaker is gracious. Again in the activity of cracking a nut the gracious existence of the speaker does reveal.

What does 'talents differ' mean in Ralph Waldo Emerson's poem 'Fable'?

'Talents differ' means talent on a particular subject possessed by a person may not be similar to the talent possessed by another one.Such as mountain deserves harbouring a forest on its back but it does not have the skill to crack a nut as of a squirrel's talent.
