Short on "Morte de Arthur":
"Morte de Arthur" is a medieval prose romance written by Sir Thomas Malory which was 1st printed in 1485 at Caxton's press. This was originally written in French and later translated into English. In Caxton's press, both of the scripts are mingled together.
The book has twenty-one chapters which are revolved round two important things. The first one is Arthur's victorious reign, faithlessness of his wife Guenever who passionately and intimately in love with Launcelot, his punishment, Modred's revolt and Arthur's death. The other part is all about the quest of Holy Grail by Launcelot who failed due to the sin of the queen.
However, the story ends with a religious and spiritual note. At last, the queen became a nun and Launcelot became a hermit. The poem maintains all the features of the medieval romances. It has they greatness of the chivalrous spirit and knighthood. It has made itself the first English poetic prose because of its poetic elements.
